FADAS 2026

GENERAL INFORMATION

The 17th Annual Meeting of the Federation of Asian Dental Anesthesiology Societies
October 10–11, 2026 / Venue: KIOXIA Aiina, Morioka, Iwate

Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is my great pleasure and honor to invite you to the 17th Annual Meeting of the Federation of Asian Dental Anesthesiology Societies (FADAS), held in conjunction with the 54th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Dental Society of Anesthesiology (JDSA). The meeting will take place in Morioka, Iwate, Japan, at KIOXIA AIINA (Iwate Prefectural Citizen’s Information Exchange Center) on October 10–11, 2026.

Dental anesthesiology in Asia-Pacific is advancing rapidly, driven by demographic change, increasing medical complexity, and growing expectations for patient safety and comfort. At the same time, we face shared challenges: the safe management of medically compromised patients, perioperative risk reduction, and the continuous improvement of education, systems, and team performance. This congress is designed as a place to learn from one another across borders, to compare best practices, and to build collaborations that translate directly into safer care and better outcomes for our patients.

The main theme of the meeting is inspired by the Japanese concept of “守破離:Shu–Ha–Ri” — a path of learning that begins with mastering fundamentals (守:Shu), progresses to breaking and refining established forms through deeper understanding (破:Ha), and ultimately reaches creative innovation grounded in expertise (離:Ri). Under this theme, we aim to connect the core principles of dental anesthesia—physiology, pharmacology, monitoring, crisis management, and ethical practice—with the future directions of our field, including precision perioperative care, data-driven safety improvement, simulation-based training, and multidisciplinary collaboration in special needs dentistry and oral-maxillofacial surgery.

Our scientific program will feature poster presentations and educational symposia that encourage open discussion. We also hope the joint format with JDSA will provide a uniquely rich environment—bringing together regional perspectives with global standards and offering opportunities to strengthen networks among FADAS member societies and beyond.

Morioka, the cultural heart of Iwate Prefecture, welcomes you with warm hospitality, beautiful autumn scenery, and a calm atmosphere that encourages conversation and reflection. Morioka also gained international attention after being featured in The New York Times'“52 Places to Go in 2023”list. We hope you will enjoy not only the academic sessions but also the friendships and professional connections that flourish when we gather in person.

I look forward to welcoming you to Morioka and to sharing an inspiring and meaningful meeting together.

Warm regards,

Kentaro Mizuta, DDS, PhD
